Our Mission:

To develop the Pitt Meadows Regional Airport as a lasting legacy of broad economic and social benefit to the communities of Pitt Meadows and Maple Ridge.

When the elected councils of Pitt Meadows and Maple Ridge accepted the Federal Government offer to take control of the Pitt Meadows Regional Airport, they created a legacy for their communities. The Pitt Meadows Regional Airport Society, established by the two municipalities to operate the airport under an 80-year agreement with Transport Canada, is determined to deliver on the potential of that legacy. To that end, the Board of Directors of the Society has adopted the Mission Statement set out below. To fulfill this mission, the Society is working to ensure continued prudent operation of the airport as required under the agreement with Transport Canada. This calls for the Society to pursue carefully-planned steps for environmentally and socially positive development on the site to generate income for the airport. The Society will pursue aviation and other development designed to provide well-paid, locally-based and lasting employment, and to build on the community's commercial and industrial tax base.
